The Next PSP Suikoden Game Gets A JP Date
And several editions, none of them cheap.
11.24.11 - 5:29 PM

A couple of months ago, the next Suikoden game for PSP, Genso Suikoden Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki (Suikoden: The Woven Web of a Century) was announced, but we haven't heard anything since. Konami today posted some new screens and announced an actual release date plus several editions.

The game's main character is up against a monster who surfaces every 100 years; the hero's ancestor Torwald fought this creature 100 years ago and will teach your character how to take it on after you travel back in time. Torwald's friend Rofl also took part in that battle a century ago, and so did Ilia, a medical student. Meiei is a bird-like being, and Zephon is the one that sent you through time. Your childhood friend Jino and his older magic-wielding sister Myra will also help you out. So far it sounds like you'll get to have up to six characters in your party in battle.

The standard retail version will go for 5980 yen ($77.54 US), with a download version not yet announced. 9580 yen ($124.22) gets you the game plus a soundtrack and drama CD, and for 12,000 yen ($155.60) you can get a 'special version' which also has an artbook in addition to the soundrack and drama CD. Another bundle includes all of these plus a Suikoden encyclopedia, poster and a code for a PSP theme, all for 19,500 yen ($252.85). Separately, you can get the drama CD on its own for 4200 yen ($54.46), and the encyclopedia for 9450 yen ($122.54).

Suikoden: The Woven Web of a Century releases in Japan on February 9th, and you can find the first screens below. The various special versions and Suikoden items will be available at Konami Style.
