Square Enix have steadily been releasing some 2D classics on iOS devices, most recently Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions. Chrono Trigger, which made its appearance on Japanese iMode cellphones earlier this year, was also said to be headed to Apple's mobile platform, but Square Enix finally confirmed this earlier today. Chrono Trigger iOS is to be released sometime next month (globally, as always) and will be supported in eight languages: English, Japanese, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and traditional and simplified Chinese.

If iDevices aren't your thing, Square also announced they will open up an Android market too. This announcement was in Japan however, and we've yet to hear whether Android users out west will have access to English versions of the titles. The company plans to release the iOS remake of Final Fantasy, Chaos Rings, Crystal Defenders, Dragon Quest Monsters Most Wanted! on the Square Enix Market, and games such as Chrono Trigger further on down the road. The market opens up on December 1st.
