Dragon Quest X Online Screens Added
Some up close and personal with the game's battle system.

Though it's an online game this time, Dragon Quest X Online's battle system will still look familiar to series veterans, even if it is in real time. You'll get fight, magic, skill and item and tactics - the last of which is used if you have AI-controlled characters in your party. You start off a battle by touching a monster, and choose your commands as soon as it's your turn without waiting for everyone else.

In Dragon Quest X Online you'll see familiar spells like being force to dance - and thereby missing your turn. As if that wasn't embarrassing enough within your own party, other parties passing by can watch your moves too. Other parties can join in and help you fight; you can invite them into battle too. Alternatively, you can escape a fight by going outside the combat zone.

The 20 new screens in our gallery also show a bit of Dwachakka, the home of the dwarves. With volcanoes and deserts, it doesn't seem very habitable, but they make do with their advanced technology. The Wii version of Dragon Quest X Online releases in Japan sometime next year.
