More Square Enix PSone Classics Are On The Way
Oh, were you waiting for Chrono Cross too? 11.03.11 - 8:09 PM Though Chrono Trigger finally became available recently on the PlayStation Network, some of us were waiting for other leaked-by-ESRB PSone classics, like Final Fantasy VI. Others preferred Final Fantasy V, and many more hoped that we'd one day get Chrono Cross. Luckily, Square Enix has good news for all of the above. Today they announced the 'Winter of RPGs' campaign, which basically means we'll be seeing all three as PSone Classics before Christmas. Surprisingly, the first release we'll be seeing is actually Chrono Cross, the 2000 sequel to Chrono Trigger which resulted in mixed reactions from fans. Better yet, it'll be on PSN on November 8th - yes, that's next Tuesday. Two weeks after Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy V will be released on PSN on November 22nd. While North America never saw the job system-based title in its original Super Famicom (SNES) incarnation, we later got it in Final Fantasy Anthology, where it was packaged with Final Fantasy VI. And speaking of VI, its PSN release is set for two weeks after V, on December 6th. We're sure the game doesn't need an introduction here, seeing as it earned the top spot in our recent Best Of Final Fantasy feature. Pricing for these titles was not announced, but we expect all of them to be in the usual Square Enix $5.99-$9.99 price range.
