Compile Heart Announces Mugen Souls
And it's produced by New Keiji Inafune! Who really isn't Keiji Inafune.

This week, Compile Heart announced Mugen Souls, a PlayStation 3 RPG set for next year. Although they listed the producer as 'New Keiji Inafune,' many mistook this as the real Keiji Inafune - this is not the case. 'New Keiji Inafune,' though (who hasn't been given an actual name...?) insists he respects the ex-head of development at Capcom, and loves the Mega Man series.

According to Dengeki, who revealed the title, the theme generally seems to be 'infinity' (or, mugen) - you'll be able to land infinite combos and moves (and deal a trillion points of damage in the process), have a lot of customization options when creating characters, and level your characters endlessly. Your party can form towers, stand on enemies, and cause them to spin in circles. Even the large-headed main character is named Shu Shu Infinite, who can change both her personality and appearance (hence the infinite customization options, I'd wager).

Shu Shu's hobbies apparently include going around and stealing ship. In fact, one such ship - G Castle, is one that she stole and rebuilt and now serves as your base of operations. From there, you can customize characters' outfits, voices, accessories and so on. Who are the characters? They're all based off of these guys, from G Crest's 'selfy town' portal. She hopes to take over the world of Nanayokai - a world that changes for every day of the week, each with its own hero and villain.

Since G Castle has a hot springs area, Mugen Souls will definitely have... well, a few suggestive scenes. The game's director is Kenta Kanno (Spectral Souls, Record of Agarest War, Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk-2), composer is Kohei Sato, and the character designers are Kei Nanameda, Ryoji and Takehito Harada, with Katsuyuki Hirano drawing the 'erotic' scenes.

Mugen Souls for PS3 releases in Japan in March, costing 7329 yen ($95.06 US) for the regular edition, and 9429 yen ($122.30 US) for a limited package, which contains a bonus DVD and Nendroid Puchi figurines.
