On its Tumblr account, Eidos Montréal has slowly been detailing the first DLC for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, titled The Missing Link. According to the developer, the content takes on average of five hours to play though, however it's only accessible through the main menu, and not in-game - even though story-wise it takes place at a certain point in the main game.

For the first part of the DLC, Adam Jensen, imprisoned by Belltower, has to get by on no inventory and no augmentations other than his arms and level 1 hacking. The poor guy doesn't even have a shirt to wear. Eventually, you'll recover all your stuff plus a whole bunch of Praxis points - meaning you'll get to choose augmentations all over again. With a couple of compounds to explore, you'll no doubt have a ton of enemies to deal with, not the least of which is Pieter Burke, the high-ranked Belltower operative seen giving Adam a tough time in the teaser trailer.

More technical changes include things like improvements in the lighting system. The Missing Link is about 1.5 GB in size and will be playable in any languages that the main game is currently available in. And yes, there will be trophies (10) and achievements (250) associated with the content.

For a better idea of what to expect, Eidos put up a video with lead narrative designer Mary deMarle taking you on a mini-walkthrough through bits and pieces of the DLC. Watch it here:

The Missing Link is due out sometime in October and although it's paid DLC, Eidos has not yet given a price.
