Fire Emblem 3DS Announced
Perhaps to no one's surprise. 09.13.11 - 3:11 AM At its 3DS event in Japan today, Nintendo had a ton of titles to show off... and announce. Not the least of which was the reveal of Intelligent Systems' long-running strategy RPG series Fire Emblem finally heading to the portable platform. The last two titles in the series were DS remakes of the original and Monshou no Nazo; before that was Path of Radiance, the one and only Wii installment. The most interesting addition to this one so far is that of a two-player mode over wi-fi, although how this works wasn't yet detailed. It also looks like there's a 'cooperative mode' between your own units too - units close to you can simultaneously attack the same enemy, too. Here is a trailer, and below a brief clip of the battles from the conference: (We suppose they're skipping over any chances of remaking Seisen no Kiefu and Thracia 776, then?) And our first gallery, below, contains 14 screens thus far. Fire Emblem for the 3DS - which obviously does not have a name yet - releases in Japan sometime next spring.
