Persona 4: The Golden Announced For PS Vita
But that wasn't the only thing to be announced!
08.31.11 - 12:15 AM

Just like everyone had expected, Atlus' teaser site, put up a few days ago, was for an announcement for a Persona 4 port to the PlayStation Vita. Though the website remains unchanged, this week's Famitsu had the first details on not only Persona 4: The Golden... but a couple of other developments too.

Persona 4: The Golden will feature new characters, including one named Marie, a new opening song by composer Shoji Meguro, other new tracks, new animated scenes and new events. The portable version will also have 1.5 times as much voice work as the original game, and an online feature that allows players to call on others when having trouble in dungeons. So far, there has been no mention of an option for a female protagonist, but Famitsu says that a 'highly requested' feature will be announced at a later date.

Persona 4: The Golden's Japanese release is set for spring 2012.

In slightly more surprising news, another Persona 4 game is in the works with help from the BlazBlue development team: A fighting game! Persona 4 Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena takes place two months after the ending events of Persona 4. Teddie of all people (?) hosts the fighting tournament, which so far includes the main character, Chie, Yosuke, Aigis and others as playable characters. Yes, Aigis - the Persona 3 cast gets to take part too. With Meguro as composer and Katsura Hashino as director, this PS3 and Xbox 360 title hits Japanese shelves next summer.

Lastly, although Persona 5 hasn't gotten an official reveal, Famitsu also mentioned that the development preparations have been completed with the regular Persona team of course working on the title. Hashino will direct the game once again, with Meguro returning as composer and Shigenori Soejima as the character designer.
