Earlier last week, 2K Games shared the first trailer for its RPG/FPS hybrid, Borderlands 2, which gave fans a first look at the new Gunzerker class. The first screenshots have trickled out of Gamescom and PAX Prime, so if you like the game's style of art like we do, you'll want to check them out below.

Borderlands 2, which begins in the ice-cold tundra known as Pandora from where you'll start your quest for revenge against the Hyperion Corporation, introduces new characters and four new classes. In case it wasn't obvious, the Gunzerker can dual-wield any weapons in the game... even rocket launchers if that's your thing. (Why yes, I do believe I've found my character class.) 2K promises 'millions' of possible weapons as well as other items at your disposal like acid, grenades, shields, class mods and a whole lot more. And of course, there'll be new areas to explore and new enemies to shoot, corrode, electrocute... or blow up.

Online co-op supports up to four players, you can play over LAN, or play split-screen with a friend. Borderlands 2 (PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) releases sometime in 2012.
