999 Team Announces A New Visual Novel Title
But will it be a successor to the popular DS title?

Chunsoft's 999 (Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors) was a very unique, unforgettable title. The Nintendo DS visual novel had a blend of story, characters, puzzles - plus a whole lot of suspense - that kept players hanging on until the end. Or rather, its six endings. Needless to say, fans of the game might be interested in that very same team's next project.

Titled Gyokugen Dasshutsu Adv: Zennin Shiboudes (which apparently roughly translates to Extreme Escape Adventure: Good People Die), this one is said not to actually be a sequel to 999 although they do share similar titles. (999 was called Extreme Escape: Nine Hours Nine Persons Nine Doors in Japan.) The game, also a visual novel, is in development for both the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita and will be fully-voiced. Some of the 999 staff take up the same roles as before, with Kotaru Uchikoshi writing the script and directing the game, and Kinu Nishimura working on the character designs.

Gyokugen Dasshutsu Adv: Zennin Shiboudes does not yet have a Japanese release date.
