Tales of Xillia Screens, Tidbits
Playtime, more DLC costumes, and uh... more!
08.24.11 - 1:55 AM

Namco Bandai's Tales of Xillia has a lot of DLC on the way, so far, it's mostly costumes. To add to the ever-growing list, by the sounds of it, it looks like we'll be seeing swimsuit costumes as well as maid and butler outfits. Sure, maid outfits have always been a thing, but the butler trend seems more recent - and is showing up in quite a few JRPGs lately.

Fans of the series might also be interested in the Tales Wallpaper app for their iPhone or iPod (and through the Japanese iTunes store as you've no doubt figured out). Not only is the app free, but there seems to be a bit of selection.. and Namco says more may be available for purchase in the future.

As for the game itself, the company says that the main portion is about 50 hours long, and can get up to about 100 hours if you do sidequests and the other extra content. Some of Dengeki's editors who already got to play the game (and sound quite impressed by it, too), say that you'll be able to quick-save anywhere, and fast-travel anywhere that you've already been in the game's world once you have access to the world map.

You can get a look at some of the costumes and the accessory customization system (yes, you can customize them in terms of position, angle, colour and size) in the screens added below. Tales of Xillia for the PS3 releases on September 8th.
