n-Space Inc. is a developer that's more known for titles like the Nintendo DS version of Call of Duty: Black Ops. This time around, they're working with Square Enix London on an original Nintendo 3DS title: Heroes of Ruin. A major feature (though not required) in this game is being able to play with others either locally or online, and to encourage this, Heroes of Ruin keeps track of who you play with via friendship meters. You'll have friendship 'levels' with them, so it follows that the higher the level, the more you'll benefit from playing together.

For a year after its release, Square Enix is also planning daily and weekly in-game challenges, plus other freebies.

Today Square released the game's first (full) trailer:

We also got some hands-on time at E3 and a chance to chat with the developers, so if you missed that, my impressions are below. Heroes of Ruin is due out sometime next year.
