Though it has been dormant for a few months as we took care of some torch-passing and training, I'm happy to present my first soundtracks update as the head of the section! Under the kind tutelage of my foster father Gorio... I mean, our resident Editor Emeritus Patrick Gann, we've got a nice smattering of album reviews for you to peruse.
First up, for all you visual novel fans out there, we have coverage of the Hirameki-localized Phantom of Inferno ZIZZ soundtrack, thanks to our very talented Neal Chandran. We've covered the game's PC and PS2 soundtracks in days past, but when we stumbled upon yet another album, Neal took care of business.
I direct the eyes and ears of adventure game fans to my own review of the Gray Matter soundtrack, composed by Robert Holmes of Gabriel Knight fame. If orchestrated goodness is more your cuppa, we've got you covered there, too, with the Distant Worlds: music from Final Fantasy Returning Home album.
Last, Bob Richardson brings us some words about another album, and it should be one you've heard of, especially for all you Operation Rainfall supporters out there: Nobuo Uematsu's The Last Story album. What did Bob think? Check out his review, and take a look! And while you're there, we have Patrick Gann's first review as Editor Emeritus/Resident Jedi Master, so if you really aren't sure what to make of Uematsu's latest, we've given you plenty to chew on.
I'd like to personally apologize for the long delay since the last update, and thank everyone who has stuck with us in the interim. There's a lot out there to cover but I can assure you that in the future we are aiming for (at least) monthly updates with as much as we can cover, so definitely stay tuned! Some of what's coming next will include The Witcher 2's soundtrack, the massive 20-disc Mana-series box set, and the new Valkyria Chronicles piano collection! See you there!
