Do You Want To Play Star Wars: The Old Republic Early?
Just pre-order the game!
07.21.11 - 9:46 PM

If you've had your eye on BioWare's long-awaited MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic, today is definitely your day. Not only did pre-orders open up everywhere, but announced was a pretty neat pre-order bonus: Getting to play the game early, plus a Color Stone to change your weapon's effects. Those who pre-order will get access to an 'Early Game Access' period, which does not yet have any given dates.

The game will come in three editions:

  • A standard edition for $59.99 US;
  • a Digital Deluxe Edition (available only on Origin.com), which includes a few in-game items: a flare gun, a training droid, a holographic dancer, a HoloCam, and a Single Trooper Aerial Platform vehicle, all for $79.99 US;
  • and a Collector's Edition (retail-only), which contains all of the in-game items from the Digital Deluxe edition, plus an exclusive in-game store for collectors, and a mouse droid. This edition has its share of physical bonuses too: a 14" x 20" Galaxy map, a 9" statue of Darth Malgus, a 111-page Journal of Master Gnost-Dural filled with notes and sketches, a keyfob, a soundtrack CD with 17 orchestrated songs, and the game itself in a collectible metal case. This bundle costs a slightly steeper $149.99 US.

Each edition includes 30 days of free playtime. The pre-order bonuses, including early game access, are in limited supply and you can pre-order at most major retailers and EA's Origin.com service.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is to be released sometime later this year.
