A First Look At Emissary Of War For iOS
From a developer founded by a former BioWare employee.

Cedar Hill Games is a small iOS developer founded by Tobyn Manthorpe, who spent a number of years as a lead tech designer at BioWare and had worked on titles such as Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Dragon Age. The studio, which is based in (the very lovely, but I may be biased) Victoria, BC, Canada, today unveiled their project: a 3D dungeon crawler called Emissary of War.

The title is based on a 3D engine that Cedar Hill built themselves, and follows the adventures of a barbarian named Ghent, who'd been sent on a diplomatic mission until things... didn't go quite as planned. Fortunately, he's accompanied by an alchemist by the name of Hassock and together you'll fight your way through dungeons and upgrade both your weapons and tactics.

Emissary of War also boasts in-game cutscenes and fully voiced dialogue, not to mention GameCentre support and achievements. Cedar Hill promises a 'twisting' storyline which unfolds as you eventually discover just why your mission went wrong in the first place.

We also got a first look at Emissary of War: you can watch the teaser trailer here, and you'll find a gallery with the first six screenshots below.

As the trailer advertises, Emissary of War is set to release in September for both the iPhone and iPad.
