Aksys Games Announces Two
Fate/Extra and Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom are coming to the West.

Aksys Games was pretty busy at Anime Expo, as they've announced that they're localizing two PSP titles: Fate/Extra and Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom. Fate/Extra is actually developed by Imageepoch and, of course, will be familiar to fans of the Fate series (Fate/stay Night) by way of characters and themes. The main character wakes up with amnesia - and in the middle of a war, to make things even more complicated. All you have is your own servant and various Legendary Souls as you fight your way through both friends and enemies to figure out who you actually are.

In Fate/Extra you'll be able to choose your character's gender, and there are dialogue and story branches, all of which will lead you to one of many endings. For a look at the game, check out the gallery below. Fate/Extra for PSP (which will be available on both UMD and on PSN) releases in North America sometime this year.

The other game is an Idea Factory-developed otome title called Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom. This title also spawned an anime and a manga - but the game came first. Hakuoki is set near the end of Japan's Edo period, when the shogunite are starting to dissolve after some 200 years of rule. You'll take on the role of Chiziru Yukimura, who's searching for her father. And so are the shinsengumi, a group that protects Kyoto from the ronin.

Of course, this being an otome, Chiziru has her share of romance opportunities along the way - and you'll be able to keep track in-game of the status of all your relationships, on both a 'romance' and a 'corruption' level. As a result, Hakuoki will have a number of different endings as well.

Hakuoki releases in North America (also both at retail and on PSN) sometime during the first quarter of 2012. You'll also find the game's gallery below. Both of these games will keep Japanese voicing - there will be no English dubbing. As always, stay tuned to RPGFan for more details!
