Frontier Gate Media Update
Meet some more partner characters.
06.28.11 - 12:39 AM

Frontier Gate is one of Konami's collaboration projects with tri-Ace for the PSP - a multiplayer RPG where you create your own main character, but choose from fifteen existing partner characters. Each partner character has his or her own background, and gives you a different viewpoint of the game's overall plot. The character creator lets you pick your main character's hair colour, hairstyle, face and build. You can even choose his or her voice. While your partner character is generally preset, you can choose their weapons and armour.

Of the fifteen partner characters, Alletio, Reinvoult and Daisy were introduced back when the game was announced. Famitsu also introduced us to Mariasharte, a lance user who was born in Indeg Kingdom. She's looking for something at the frontier, and seems to be something of a noble. Emilio hails from the Eibro Republic and comes to the frontier in search of a legendary weapon. He himself carried a one-handed sword.

Kurotoki is a foreign katana-wielding traveller who was separated from a group that he was with, after an accident. Nike is fond of bows and arrows... and of colonists. The knight Sigrid carries a large sword and seeks out 'illegal pioneers' as part of his job. Dundes' weapon of choice is a hammer, and is considered a hero to many people. Finally, another knight, Volker, likes to show up at the right moment.

Up to three players can play together, with each controlling both their own main character and the partner character. We've got a handful of new screenshots and art in the gallery below. Frontier Gate for the PSP is set for a 2011 release in Japan.
