Why would you siege a dungeon, anyway?

Fans of slicing, dicing, and high production values have a little something to think about today, with the release of Dungeon Siege III for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. For the third entry in this hack-and-slash series, development duties have shifted to Obsidian Entertainment (notable for Neverwinter Nights 2, Knights of the Old Republic 2, and, more recently, Fallout: New Vegas and Alpha Protocol), with publishing being handled by Square Enix.

While the series began on the PC as a competitor to Diablo, this latest entry attempts to carve its own niche in the market, one that favors quick and easy drop-in/drop-out cooperative sessions for up to four players and a focus on dodging enemy attacks rather than chugging countless potions for survival. Sound like something you'd be into? Dungeon Siege III can be yours for the standard price of $59.99 USD on the two consoles, and $49.99 USD on the PC. Look out for a full review from yours truly in the coming weeks!
