Gust Counts Down To Atelier Meruru's JP Release
And how are they celebrating? Lots of videos, for one. Come see! 06.15.11 - 6:26 PM Atelier Meruru: The Alchemist of Arland 3, despite only being announced back in March, is already on its way to Japanese shelves next week. To celebrate, on June 13th developer Gust started a ten-day countdown - they have opened up a countdown site with something new on each day. So far, we have seen three videos (all embedded below), but the site contains all other kinds of Atelier Meruru goodies as well, such as illustrations, banners and a chance to score some Meruru-themed gifts. The videos all include director Yoshito Okamura. The first one introduces us to Atelier Meruru and gives us a glimpse of the game. One of the new features being touted, and has gotten a lot of fans' interest, is the world development system: Day three of the countdown produced a video that gives us a better look at the game's battles, which uses a 'cost turn' system. Finally, Famitsu reviewed Atelier Meruru this week, giving it a total of 35/40. The game was praised visually and for its battles, as well as for all the cameos from the previous two games. Among these, you'll see Sterk, Pamela, Rorona's teacher Astrid, Gio, plus all the others we've already talked about. One reviewer even called it the best game of the series. Atelier Meruru: The Alchemist of Arland 3 for the PlayStation 3 releases in Japan on June 23rd.
