Does the first look live up to the promise of the trailer?

The trailer for Polish game developer Techland's Dead Island made some serious waves when it debuted, but didn't give us much in the way of gameplay footage to analyze. As details of the game began to trickle out, it hit RPGFan's radar as there appear to be some clear RPG elements to the game.
