A collector's edition! Surprise! (Or not.)
06.06.11 - 6:44 PM

If you saw both Microsoft and EA's E3 press conferences today, you probably saw demos of Mass Effect 3 twice. The Kinect support that was rumoured last week was seen at Microsoft's briefing, though all we really saw was the voice recognition for choosing dialogue options and issuing commands to your teammates.

The EA presser had this new trailer, Fall of Earth:

BioWare also released a handful of new E3 screenshots, which you can find in our gallery below. They even re-launched the official website, which detailed (unsurprisingly) a collector's edition for the game. The collector's edition comes in a metal tin that features both male and female Shepard and includes the game, a 70-page hardcover artbook, a digital copy of the soundtrack, a Mass Effect comic from Darkhorse, an N7 patch, a lithograph, exclusive in-game weapons and armour, and other bonuses. Check it out:

Mass Effect 3, as of today, has a release date of March 6, 2012. While the collector's edition doesn't have a price yet, the regular edition will go for $59.99 US.

UPDATE: Apparently the collector's edition actually has a $79.99 US price tag on all three platforms (PS3, PC, Xbox 360). Not a bad deal!
