Moogles Play An Important (And Fruity) Role In Final Fantasy Type-0
Oh, and other characters! ..Less fruity ones.

We mentioned not too long ago that in Final Fantasy Type-0, you'll be taking mission orders from Moogles - but that's far from their only role in the game. For starters, the acronym MOOGLE in the game apparently stands for 'Military Operations Organization, Guidance & Logistics Experts.' See now why they give you the orders? Anyway, the magic school, Suzaku has thirteen of these cute little creatures - and together they form the Cranberry Knights. Surely you can see why.

Dengeki PlayStation also introduced a few characters:

-Each class in Suzaku has its own Moogle - and the main characters' class' Moogle is voiced by a 12 year old Japanese voice actress for added cuteness.

-A Chocobo user named Izana was seen in a recent video wearing a hood; he was near death and talking to Ace, one of the playable classmates. He loves the series' iconic creatures.

-Quator Bashtar is a military general for the invading Milites; he wears a patch over one eye and has gray hair. He fights on the front lines with both guns and swords.

-Khalia Chival the 6th, a man with long gray hair, is Suzaku's 174th principal. And as a leader of the magic school, he is also a leader of Rebrum, the main kingdom. He has been known to be skilled in magic ever since he was young.

In Suzaku, you'll be able to visit the Crystarium to view background info plus your own battle history. The school serves as your base of operations, including mission briefings. It looks as if some missions will be side missions, and not necessarily tied into the main plot. As mentioned, you'll talk to a Moogle, and in some cases you'll have to meet other conditions as well before taking on a mission. Once you get your mission orders, you'll go to the world map then the battle location. Completing the mission requires clearing some objective such as defeating the opposition's commander.

While Dengeki showed a couple of summons, Golem and Ifrit, it was unclear as to how the summon system actually works. Golem can briefly raise his attack and defense, and Ifrit... well, you've seen Ifrit in every Final Fantasy game.

We seem to be getting a lot of details on Final Fantasy Type-0 lately, and there may be more to come in the other Japanese magazines. As always, stay tuned to RPGFan for more info!
