Your Guide (So Far) To Chrono Trigger's Many Releases
Are you confused? So are we. Let's sort it all out, shall we? 04.25.11 - 3:16 PM Chrono Trigger has had a lot of announcements and leaks as of late. If you're confused, you're not alone. Here's what we have so far: -Last week, as we mentioned, there was an ESRB leak outing Chrono Trigger's eventual North American PlayStation Network release. This hasn't been made official - so we have no date - but the ESRB doesn't make this stuff up. This is the PSone version of the game. -It was also revealed three weeks ago in Nintendo of Europe's Q2 lineup that Chrono Trigger would also see a Virtual Console release in... well, the second quarter in Europe. That period ends on June 30th, so it should be released before then. This will be the SNES version of the game, and there's no word on a Virtual Console release of the game in North America yet, but it's likely inevitable. -As recently announced, there's also an iMode cellphone version of the game released in Japan today. The catch? It's in two parts: Each is approximately 630 yen ($7.69 US). This is based on the Nintendo DS version of the game. The official site is here. -Japan is also getting a Virtual Console version - tomorrow in fact, and it's priced at 900 Wii Points. -Finally, Square Enix confirmed the Japanese PlayStation Network release for sometime this spring, likely next month sometime. So very soon, it won't be difficult to get your hands on Chrono Trigger no matter where you are. If there are any more releases of the game, RPGFan will be sure to let you know.
