Famitsu also talked about three kinds of 'chat' in Tales of Xillia: fighting chat. long chat and short chat. Fighting chat, of course, happens during battle with the illustrations animated by Ufotable, who are also responsible for the game's anime cutscenes. Long chat is similar to skits from past Tales games, and short chat happens while you're wandering around - you'll just see a character's icon and some text.
Famitsu also showed that you can swap allies in and out of a battle using the D-pad - so long as the characters being swapped in or out are not dead. Lastly, they detailed some of Rowan's skills - ie. his ability to control his magic even after it's been cast. For example, he cast a water spell and then adjust the current.
Tales of Xillia is out in Japan sometime this year.
