CD Projekt's follow-up to The Witcher, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is about a month and a half away, and its release has both the developer and fans excited. They've sent over a new batch of screens, and with a lot of fans wondering about whether their machine will be good enough for the game, they specified the system requirements as well. To run the game you will need:

  • Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista SP2, or Windows 7 (32/64-bit) (+ admin access)
  • 16 GB of hard drive space
  • A sound card compatible with DirectX 9.0c
  • A DVD x8 drive compatible with DVD9

The minimum requirements are as follows:

  • An Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 Ghz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ processor
  • 1 GB of memory on Windows XP, or 2 GB Windows Vista and Windows 7
  • For the video card: 512 MB RAM, supporting Pixel Shader 3.0 (Nvidia GeForce 8800 or ATI Radeon HD3850)

The recommended requirements are:

  • Intel Core 2 Quad or AMD Phenom X4 processor
  • 3 GB memory on Windows XP, or 4 GB Windows Vista and Windows 7
  • Video card: 1 GB RAM, supporting Pixel Shader 3.0 (Nvidia GeForce GTX260 or ATI Radeon HD4850)

The game will also support the Xbox 360 controller for Windows. Recommended specs for laptops may be different.
