Meet Elise and her weird stuffed animal... again.

Recently, it was revealed that one of Tales of Xillia's newest character reveals was named Elise, and that she carried around an interesting-looking stuffed animal named Tipo. Namco Bandai provided some media of the two and more details.
Elise Lutus is a 12 year old 'spirit master' who uses Tipo, 30 centimetres tall, in battle. One of her abilities is 'Switching Tipo,' which has two states: 'Tipo On' has Tipo stay on Elise's back, increasing her magic attacks while using its (his?) own magic attacks. 'Tipo Off' sees Tipo float in the air around her and dealing physical attacks instead.
Jude and Milla, Tales of Xillia's two main characters, run into Elise and Tipo in a town called Hamil (where Elise is being persecuted) while still being chased by the army. Elise joins their party and they all escape into a nearby forest.
Namco Bandai also talked more about the Link Mode, which sees the character you're controlling as the 'Master' character and a chosen linked character in a 'partner' role. Each character has his or her unique support abilities. For example, in a 'partner' role Jude will restore your HP if you're down. Milla on the other hand can bind enemies.
