Eiyuu Densetsu: Ao no Kiseki Announced
That is - another Legend of Heroes game.
03.22.11 - 4:48 PM

The first game in The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky trilogy (known as Eiyuu Densetsu: Sora no Kiseki in Japan) is set to hit North America in exactly a week from today. Japan has already seen the next game after the trilogy, Zero no Kiseki, as of last fall. While Falcom has often alluded to a follow-up to Zero, it's been now made official in this week's Dengeki PlayStation Magazine.

Eiyuu Densetsu: Ao no Kiseki (The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Blue) will once again be a PlayStation Portable title, with its catchphrase being 'the story that begins with Zero goes to a deeper blue.' The game will start some months after Zero no Kiseki, and be quite large in terms of content compared to its predecessor. The battle system will also be similar, with some updates being made to certain components, and players will be able to skip over some attacks and arts.

Ao no Kiseki already has a release date in Japan, too. Its release is set for September 29th, with the regular edition costing 6090 yen ($75,26 US), and the limited edition, which includes Tio and Ellie Nendroid figures and is pre-order only, will run 9240 yen ($114.19 US). In addition, there will also be a version that costs 7980 yen ($98.61 US) and include a drama CD. More details should be coming out soon including the characters, and a first movie is being put up on YouTube in two days. Check back with RPGFan for this and more as they come.

It is also worth mentioning that Falcom has confirmed their support for Sony's Next Generation Portable (NGP). CEO Toshihiro Kondo has said the company has an RPG in the works, and are aiming to release it close to the system's launch.
