Phantasy Star Online 2 Goes Into Alpha Test This Summer
Want in? Buy Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity. 02.05.11 - 2:57 PM At a Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity fan appreciation event earlier today, SEGA finally - for the first time since its unveiling back at Tokyo Game Show - talked a little bit about Phantasy Star Online 2. Not a whole lot, as actual details are still supposed to come soon, but they did say that the game will enter alpha testing this summer. So far, Phantasy Star Online 2 has only been announced for PC. For a chance to get into the alpha testing, you'll need a first-print retail copy of Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity for the PlayStation Portable in Japan. You'll know if your copy has one if it has one of these yellow stickers on the front - as you might have guessed, PSN downloads of the game won't have a code. You then need to enter that code into a drawing to be chosen for the alpha test. Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity will be released in Japan on February 24th. SEGA will also be giving out codes to those still playing Phantasy Star Universe and Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst, but they didn't mention how quite yet. Arriving some ten years after the initial launch of its predecessor back in 2001 on the Dreamcast, Phantasy Star Online 2 is dated for sometime later this year in Japan.
