Final Fantasy XIII-2 Gets A Domain Name
But does the game exist? Will we see Lightning with odd hair extensions and dual-wielding guns?
01.13.11 - 8:23 PM

A few days from now, Square Enix is expected to give fans a much better (and more updated) look at Final Fantasy Agito XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII, among other things. They had also alluded to some desire to do a sequel for Final Fantasy XIII itself, but never announced one. Yet.

But yesterday, the domain name 'finalfantasy13-2game.com' popped up on the DomainTools database as having been registered a few days ago. It's only listed as being owned by the generic business name 'Corporation Service Company' but it looks like they're also associated with websites for games like Nier and FFXIII.

What could it all mean? Well, it doesn't confirm a sequel quite yet. For all we know could be just a placeholder in case Square ever decides to bring that idea to fruition, before anyone else gets to it.

Either way, Square Enix's First Production Department Premier event takes place in a few days, on the 18th. This is the event formerly titled Fabula Nova Crystallis Conference, but was changed since its focus is no longer just the 'Final Fantasy ____ XIII' titles - Kingdom Hearts 3DS and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep Final Mix will also be shown. As well, the event is now more geared towards fans than to press this time around. Who knows, we could possibly hear an announcement related to this domain name then!

Check back with RPGFan for more on this event on January 18th.
