We really ought to cut Neal some slack.

Neal Chandran, resident reviewer of indie games, quirky games, and plenty of bad games, decided to give HitMaker's latest offering a chance. The company behind such less-than-classics as A Witch's Tale (DS) and Dragoneer's Aria (PSP) recently had their PS3 debut, Last Rebellion, published in English-speaking regions by none other than NIS America.
Neal wanted to give this game the benefit of the doubt. NIS (Japan) co-developed it. It could've been a fresh start for the company. Maybe it'd be a truly enjoyable RPG.

Also, news for the audiophiles out there -- there has been no official soundtrack release for the game, though the Japanese version did get a promotional "mini soundtrack" that we have no intention of covering. Instead, Neal hit up the opening and ending singles, which were apparently some of the most enjoyable aspects of the game, and his thoughts (alongside audio samples) are provided in the links below.
