Deus Ex: Human Revolution Delayed
Square Enix adjusts its financial forecast - only to slash its projected earnings.
12.16.10 - 10:42 PM

Just days after releasing a rather enticing extended trailer for the game, Square Enix has delayed Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The highly-anticipated title had a tentative date of March, but is now being pushed out of the Q1 2011 release frame so that Eidos Montreal could polish up the title a little bit more. There was no new release date given as of yet, only the 'next fiscal term.'

With the delay of both this multiplatform title and the PlayStation 3 version of Final Fantasy XIV, the PC's version of FFXIV currently running an indefinite free trial, poor overall sales as well as backlash over a 'key title' (it doesn't take any stretch of imagination to figure that one out), Square Enix as a result slashed its earnings forecast by over 90%. In money terms, they had expected to generate earnings of 12 billion yen - this number has now become just 1 billion yen.
