Want More Broken Sword For iOS Too?
Sure, why not! I told you it was a big iOS day.
12.15.10 - 11:10 PM

If Tales of Monkey Island and Riven weren't enough graphic adventure for you today, Revolution also brought a new Broken Sword title to iOS today, in Broken Sword - The Smoking Mirror: Remastered. Like Broken Sword: Director's Cut before it, the followup is available in separate iPhone/iPod touch and iPad versions, each of THOSE in four languages. Whatever platform or language you want, you're looking at a scant $6.99 entry fee. Visit Revolution's iTunes page for links to all of these versions.

Like Riven, this is more than a pure port. From the game description:

‘Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror – Remastered’ is a stunning update to the million-selling original. Along with an exclusive new interactive digital comic, from ‘Watchmen’ co-creator Dave Gibbons, the game boasts fully animated facial expressions, enhanced graphics throughout, high quality music as well as a context-sensitive hint system, and diary. The game also features Dropbox integration which facilitates a unique cross-platform save-game feature, enabling players to enjoy the same adventure simultaneously on multiple devices, full Game Center integration – including in-game achievements – and many other enhancements.

The Dropbox integration is a great touch: Being able to play your same saved game on multiple iOS devices is incredibly useful, and something I hope catches on with more developers. Or perhaps the OS itself could one day support this.
