DSiWare: Magical Fantasia Now Available in Japan
Modern technology versus magic - what will win? 12.13.10 - 4:27 PM If you're lucky enough to own a Japanese DSi, you can now purchase Magical Fantasia, a game that definitely appears to have that retro feel that many RPG fans just yearn for. For those of you who don't know, Magical Fantasia is actually a series that has seen three installments. G-Mode created the series for mobile phones, but has now decided to bring over the series third iteration, Magical Fantasia 3 as DSiWare. Since this is the first iteration available for the DS, G-Mode changed the title from Magical Fantasia 3 to just Magical Fantasia. Magical Fantasia centers around four characters: Jonah (a hero of few words), Julius (a gifted swordsman lacking magical aptitude), Utona (a princess with some spunk), and Yubel (the princess' safeguard). Not only are the characters thrust into a war between recent technology and magic, but they are also on a quest to rescue the star Stella-Maris. The best way to complete this task is using your powerful magical attacks. The battle system revolves around AP (art points), you spend them every time you cast a spell. You can also combine your characters' magic to unleash some mighty spells that will no doubt do more damage to your enemies. You'll also fight your way across a wide variety of environments, but what will probably catch your eye is the ability to take airships to flying dungeons in the sky. Magical Fantasia is now available in Japan for a mere 500 DSiWare points.
