Square Enix Debuting Final Fantasy TCG
HEART OF THE CARDS! 11.30.10 - 11:59 AM Square Enix won't be the first company to debut a collectible card game based on one of their own franchises when they launch the Final Fantasy TCG in Japan on February 25th. Already strong for several years is Blizzard's World of Warcraft TCG and SOE's digital trading card games based on their EverQuest titles. Konami owns the rights to Yu-Gi-Oh, as well. None of these games, however, will allow you to pit your favorite Final Fantasy characters against each other, Dissidia-style. There's not much in the way of details on the game itself, nor has there been any announcement of a English-language release of the game. With the success of games like the World of Warcraft TCG, which also gives players in-game loot, it would be tough to see Square Enix not following suit to give players Final Fantasy XI and XIV items on the rarest cards. Check out the Japanese-language site below, and keep your eyes peeled to RPGFan for more information as it becomes available.
