The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Coming To GOG.com, Steam
Premium and Collector's Editions detailed with lots and lots of goodies. 11.18.10 - 4:49 PM CD Projekt revealed at their press conference earlier today that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be available for purchase on the CD Projekt-run GOG.com as well as through Steam, Impulse and retail outlets. The game will be offered in Digital Premium, Retail Premium and Collector's Edition flavors. The Retail Premium version of the game will go for $49.99 and will come with a Making Of video, soundtrack, map, game guide, a letter and coin from the game, and two papercraft dolls, while the Digital Premium version will contain the same extras (with the exception of the coin) in PDF and MP3 formats. The Collector's Edition will retail for a whopping $129.99, and will come with the entire contents of the Retail Premium version, as well as a 200 page artbook, a set of 5 poker dice from the game, playing cards with characters from the game, three stickers, and a sculpture of Geralt's head. Purchases from GOG.com will be DRM-free and will come with a digital version of the CE Artbook and one of the following games from the service: Beyond Divinity, Divine Divinity, Gothic 2 Gold Edition, Realms of Arkania 1+2, or Realms of Arkania 3, as well as the standard assortment of GOG.com bonus items. Purchases on Steam will have Steam Cloud support for save games and exclusive Steam Achievements. All pre-orders of the digital version will receive $5 off the purchase price. Gamers in the EU and UK will be pleased to know that GOG.com is offering something they call the Fair Price Package, which will give UK and EU customers a store credit in USD for the price difference between their preorder price (€44.99 or £31.49) & the worldwide one ($44.99 US). The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be out May 17th, 2011 and is available for preorder now on GOG.com, Steam, Impulse, and from most major retailers.
