Is Diablo III Going To Consoles?
Not yet, but Blizzard may be hiring the appropriate staff to do so. 11.16.10 - 2:03 AM Earlier this morning, some interesting listings were discovered among Blizzard Entertainment's many online job postings. Under the Diablo III heading especially, there are a number of job titles including ones for lead designer, lead programmer, and senior producer all with 'Console' mentioned beside them, causing many to wonder whether the long-awaited title was actually coming to consoles after all. Better yet, they're all listed as 'particularly critical positions.' As we can see from previous Diablo titles and World of Warcraft, Blizzard's platforms of choice have always been the PC and Mac. In response to the rumors, Blizzard issued a statement on their forums, saying that the job postings are in no way a confirmation of Diablo III being headed to the consoles. They confirmed they were indeed entertaining the idea - or at least, the idea of a 'Diablo-related concept for consoles' - if the suitable staff came onboard, and encouraged those with the right credentials to apply. Blizzard also made sure to mention that their primary focus was the game's PC/Mac development, and any console release plans wouldn't interfere with or impede its progress. Diablo III currently has no release date.
