Is this the muted side of Link?

A scant three new screen shots came out of Nintendo recently for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and they show a game that's a bit less vibrant than the version we saw at E3 this year. Could it be a story device? Some odd color conversion in Photoshop? A reaction to potential critics of the highly-saturated impressionist painting style we've grown to (possibly) love? Or are we just reading into things?
It wouldn't be the first time a Zelda game switched graphic styles mid-development - remember the complete overhaul Twilight Princess' Twilight realm got prior to release? This is nothing as drastic, but it's at least noteworthy. We'll be looking forward to seeing where this goes leading up to the game's vague '2011' release.
