At the recent Nintendo Press Conference, several upcoming games received release dates, including highly anticipated title The Last Story. Mistwalker's latest project will debut on the Nintendo Wii in Japan on January 27th, 2011.
The game, directed by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, follows the story of Elza as he strives to become an elite knight. Together with his mercenary companions, Elza uses a mysterious power known as "gathering" to employ effective diversionary tactics in the heat of battle. Combat is in real-time, and the player must pay attention to enemy targeting to ensure the safety of their allies.
