SEGA Reveals Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity
Update coming to Japanese gamers, as we wait for the original game to release.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 isn't even out in North America yet, but SEGA is prepping a hefty update to the game in Japan, reports Famitsu. Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity is meant to contain about 1.5x more content than the core game, so as you might imagine, there are quite a few things bundled into this update.

The new character seen in the scans below is Nagisa, a member of the new Dyunman race. Meanwhile, the existing races will gain new costumes in the update.

One of the larger additions is a so-called 'reincarnation' system for characters, which will reset the character's level, but presumably not their stats. In doing so, players can then work towards rebuilding their character with different stats. Or further progressing on the same path as before.

Finally, a slew of smaller additions include a cell-style text input system (do people really enjoy doing this on their PSP or PS3?), a screenshot utility, a visual lobby (this one seems a bit vague) and an Infinity difficulty mode.

We'll have more on Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity as we hear it - which hopefully will include a release date both inside and outside of Japan.
