Nippon Ichi Loses Money, Cancels Games, Loses More Money
We're rooting for you d00ds!

It hasn't been a great year for Nippon Ichi Software. Their recently published Q1 earnings report showed an unfortunate 40.6% decrease in revenue compared to Q1 2009, stemming from an operating loss of ¥15 million (c.f. last year's surplus of ¥12 million).

These less than savory market conditions led NIS to cancel three games and take a one-time loss of ¥21 million ($244,545.00). The three games were unannounced titles, so you can still look forward to the games announced at NIS America's Spoiler Party 2010.

Despite the losses and cancellations, things are starting to look up. NIS has already made ¥32 million ($372,640) in profits on ¥269.75 million ($3.14 million) in sales this fiscal quarter, and with their new emphasis on developing fewer - but higher quality - games should see those profits continue to increase in the near future.
