It's been almost a month since the RPGFan Soundtracks section had its last update.
We've been waiting for the stars to magically align. However, align they have not. The promised Genso Suikoden update is still in the works. The Xenoblade soundtrack? It's on its way, we assure you. And there's all sorts of other high-profile goodies that will be reviewed, complete with audio samples, throughout the month of July.
But until then, we decided to hold you over with the most random, obscure stuff we could find. That is our specialty, after all!
First up, one of our newest editors, Stephen Meyerink, brings us a review for the Kanuchi soundtrack. Released for PS2 in 2008, Kanuchi is a graphic adventure targeted to the ladies, from Idea Factory's sub=group Vingt-et-un. Surprisingly good music from an almost unknown composer. Those were my thoughts anyway. Stephen's thoughts? Check his review.
My only contribution to today's update is the soundtrack for Osouji Sentai Clean Keeper. It's another graphic adventure from Idea Factory, however, this one is for the Wii. It also has some crazy awesome music. For those interested, the plot of the game is pretty zany too. You're a boy that is shanghaied into joining the school beautification club (that is, a bunch of volunteer janitors). Luckily, much of the group is made up of pretty ladies. The music is as bubbly as the source material.
And finally, speaking of pretty ladies, my lovely wife decided to chime in. She does that now and then, since she is subjected to loads and loads of VGM. She has a review for a collection of (mostly) vocal tracks from the album "Game Music Collection ~ Sony Computer Entertainment Japan BEST." Featured on the album are games such as The Legend of Dragoon, Arc the Lad, Alundra 2, and Popolocrois. Good stuff!
Next update will be ... who knows when, who knows what. But whatever and whenever it is, we'll keep it classy.
