This week's issue of Famitsu has revealed the existence of a PS3 version of Level 5's upcoming RPG, Ni No Kuni: The Another World, which was previously a Nintendo DS exclusive.

Media that was released alongside the announcement indicates that the two versions will share the same characters, world, and theme, but each game will contain unique features. Most importantly, each version will have a distinctly different battle system. In the DS version, players will attack by drawing magic runes on the touch screen; in the PS3 version, players will issue commands to creatures that are controlled by the game's characters.

Collectors should be especially pleased to hear that each copy of Ni No Kuni will contain a 352-page replica of "Magic Master", the tome of spells carried by protagonist Oliver. Famitsu indicated that Oliver will "refer to the book while going through his adventure", which could mean that the player may need to use the actual book to ascertain game-related information. (Editor's note: Dip the envelope in water! Trust me.)

The DS version is slated for a December 9th release in Japan, while the PS3 version has a vague 2011 release window. Neither title has been confirmed for a North American release, but keep checking back with RPGFan for the latest news on this exciting title.
