Ys VI PSP Review, Four Years Late, Plus Two Soundtrack Reviews
In other words, Ys and a bunch of numbers.

And I'm still really mad about them calling the most recent game Ys SEVEN. What a ridiculous way to stylize the number after consistently using roman numerals for six entries in a row. But I digress.

Konami once made a mistake. Well, they've made a few mistakes. But the one that sticks out in my mind was going forward with a PSP port of Ys (VI): The Ark of Napishtim. Falcom's original version, a Japan-only PC release, was excellent. And the PS2 port from Konami was strong. But in 2006, the PSP was not ready to port PS2 titles. Yet, that's what they attempted. And in my humble opinion, they failed. Miserably.

The other links? Well, there were two soundtracks we had yet to review for the Ys series. One of them is absolutely worth checking out: it's the soundtrack to Ys I&II Chronicles for PSP, reviewed by Dennis Rubinshteyn. This is excellent stuff, I promise you that. The other soundtrack is a promotional release called "Ys Music History." It's a nice sampler CD with a few bonus goodies on it. It was also a recent release, hence why it's only now being covered.

And our Falcom completionism continues over in the soundtracks department. Bow down, children. Bow!
