Nippon Ichi Wants You To Stop And Smell Blue Roses
Which, incidentally, carry the scent of a new strategy RPG for the PSP.

The debut RPG from new developer ApolloSoft, entitled Blue Roses: The Fairies and the Blue-Eyed Warriors, has been announced for a Japanese release on September 16. The title is being developed by former Flight-Plan employees (the company behind Summon Night) and will be published by Nippon Ichi Software.

Blue Roses will feature two main characters, each with their own unique storyline (not unlike the recent Hexyz Force). Players will command a squadron of Blue Rose knights, who utilize the power of fairies to battle mysterious enemies known as Phantoms. Being a strategy RPG, battles will take place on a standard grid from an overhead perspective. Once an attack is executed, the viewpoint shifts to a 2D depiction of a three-on-three skirmish.

The game will be priced at ¥6,090 for a retail copy, which will include a 40-page "Blue Roses Visual Booklet", or ¥4,800 for the digital release. No North American release has been announced, but keep checking back to RPGFan for the latest news on this title.
