Square Enix graces the Nintendo DS with another traditional RPG. 05.27.10 - 2:51 PM Recently, a trademark was filed for Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, which indicated that the game will be released in North America. A press release sent by Square Enix today has officially confirmed the Nintendo DS game's localization, setting a target release date of October 5. The game features a distinct storybook visual style, complete with a pastel color palette and super-deformed characters. Brandt and his companions engage their enemies using a streamlined, turn-based battle system, which utilizes a touch-screen interface. Character customization is done via the unique crown system, which essentially functions like the job system of some of the previous Final Fantasy titles. By equipping different crowns, characters can take on up to 28 different roles, like the Knight, Dancer, and Ninja. The game also contains a multiplayer mode, where up to four players can connect locally to explore dungeons and collect rare items. Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light will also be released in Europe sometime this fall.
