BioWare has released new details for their recently announced downloadable Dragon Age addon entitled Darkspawn Chronicles. The new DLC presents an alternate-history for the Dragon Age universe and explores what would have happened if your character had died during the Joining ceremony at the beginning of the game. Players will take the role of a hurlock vanguard, who can use the new “Enthrall” ability to partner with shrieks, genlocks, ogres and more in your attack on Denerim. Players will also run into old party members, including Alistair who now leads the Grey Wardens in their defense of Denerim.

The DLC includes three new achievements, and upon completion of the story, players will be rewarded with the powerful Darkspawnß BlightBlood sword for use in both Dragon Age: Origins and the Awakening expansion.

The Darkspawn Chronicles DLC will be released on May 18th for the PC and Xbox 360 and will cost 400 BioWare or Microsoft points. The release date for the PS3 version will be announced shortly.
