End of Eternity (Resonance of Fate) Soundtrack Reviewed
All *six discs* of it. 05.05.10 - 12:27 PM tri-Ace's latest title, Resonance of Fate (PS3/360), has left us at RPGFan feeling a little winded. It's a big game, and it's difficult. That might be why our official domestic review for the game isn't out yet. However, we do have James Clark's review of the import version, titled End of Eternity, for you to check out at any time. More importantly for this particular editor, however, is the game's soundtrack. A mammoth six disc set, this OST is record-breaking if only for its size; it is the largest single soundtrack publication for a single game in the history of game music (discounting box sets such as the Final Fantasy XI Premium OST). The soundtrack is composed by two individuals with styles as far apart as the East is from the West. Kouhei Tanaka, composer for games such as Alundra and the Sakura Wars series, as well as a number of high-profile anime, did most of the "event" music for the game. Motoi Sakuraba, a tri-Ace regular (Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile series) did most of the battle, dungeon, and environment music. A rough estimate suggests that there's a two-to-one ratio with Sakuraba writing double the music that Tanaka did, if not more. We have a review for this gargantuan soundtrack, written by yours truly. Check it out in the link below.
