Get the scoop on young hero Shulk and his companions.

More details have surfaced on the playable characters in Monolith Soft's upcoming RPG Xenoblade (whose tentative North American title still, technically, remains Monado: Beginning of the World - this could still change).
* Shulk - Age: 17, Gender: Male, Race: Homs. An orphan who discovers that he can wield the legendary blade, Monado. He sets off on a journey to exact revenge on the Kishin soldiers who attacked his village.
* Fiorun - Age: 18, Gender: Female, Race: Homs. The younger sister of Dunban, and childhood friend to Shulk. She has a nurturing personality.
* Dunban - Age: 30, Gender: Male, Race: Homs. Known as a hero to his race, he previously wielded Monado and used it to slay his enemies. A year before the story begins, he sustained a major injury in battle and is still recovering.
* Rein - Age: 18, Gender: Male, Race: Homs. Another childhood friend of Shulk. He is a member of the Defense Force in Colony 9, which is where he lives with Shulk, Fiorun, and Dunban.
* Carna - Age: 21, Gender: Female, Race: Homs. A master of projectile weapons that serves in the Colony 6 Defense Force.
* Melia - Age: ??, Gender: Female, Race: Hienter. A young girl who is skilled with ether attacks (Xenoblade's form of magic). She lives in a futuristic society on the god Kyoshin.
* Riki - Age: ??, Gender: Male, Race: Nopon. A juvenile member of a non-human race who function primarily as merchants. He makes dubious claims about being a legendary hero.
The world of Xenoblade is comprised of two gods locked in stasis after a climactic battle. Two civilizations, one machine-based and the other organic, reside on their colossal bodies.
Xenoblade is currently scheduled for a June 10, 2010 release in Japan. A North American release date has not been finalized.
