The RPGFan editorial staff face a task that is both a curse and a blessing. On the plus side, we play a lot of great RPGs. We often get free copies, some of which come to us in advance. That's a big perk for what we do. But there's a downside to it all.
Sometimes you play a game that you really love, and you want to keep playing it, over and over and over. But you have to put that game down to continue the mass consumption of new RPGs hitting the market. Indeed, some former staff members had to leave their post for this very reason (we have MMORPGs, specifically World of Warcraft, to blame for some of that).
Today, I wish I could keep playing Sakura Wars ~So Long, My Love~. Like many graphic adventures, there are multiple endings, and I want to experience all of them. Alas, my work in pairing Lt. Shinjiro Taiga with Gemini Sunrise will probably be as far as I go in this, the fifth (and likely final) entry in the long-running series that only now breaks through to the US.
I have plenty of good news to report in my reviews of both the PlayStation 2 (yes, seriously) and Wii versions of the game. I recommend you go forth and hear the good news. I also recommend you buy this game.
