New Blood of Bahamut Details Revealed

Square Enix today revealed new information regarding its DS-based title Blood of Bahamut. Today's update introduces the game's third giant, Fenrir. This giant looks like a gigantic wolf. He uses magic to control the waning and waxing of the moon and always moves around under the moon light. He possesses an impressive mobility not expected from a creature of his size. The people living on Fenrir seek knowledge above all. In a tower built on his back, they are storing a large amount of ancient books. These people used to travel from one giant to another, seeking to understand everything in the world. Since then they have spent a millennium reading the ancient books stored in the tower and in the process produced a large number of scholars. The leader of this tribe is called Sunchago. More than 1,000 years old, he looks like a wolf. Sunchago's handling of the spear is the stuff of legends.

The update also revealed three features of Blood of Bahamut's field map. So-called gates prevent the player from moving any further. They can only be opened by defeating all monsters nearby. Portals are more convenient than gates. They have various effects, for instance allowing the player to quickly move his party within striking distant of a giant's weak spot. Last but not least, big stationary cannons will provide a considerable amount of fire power in exchange for a lack of mobility and the accompanying risk of coming under attack.

Blood of Bahamut has yet to receive an official release date.
